50 YEARS CONTINUE THE VISION ENDOWMENT CAMPAIGN
In 1998, the Endowment Trust was established to ensure the Visual Art Center’s continuation through a perpetual asset base. Early funding for the Trust came from the estates of Fred Babcock and Carolyn Bretz. Later, Dr. William and Suzanne Bowles gave a major gift.
Over $100,000 has been distributed from the Trust to support key VAC programs such as the pottery studio, art technology lab, library remodeling and Hurricane Charley repairs.
GROW THE ENDOWMENT
To continue the vision of our founding artists, the Endowment Trust must grow. A Campaign was “softly” launched in early 2008. The Marnie and Fred Babcock Family are honorary campaign chairs and Jane Brenner and Sue Krasny are co-chairs of the 50 YEARS CONTINUE THE VISION CAMPAIGN. An executive committee of community leaders is chaired by Brian Presley.
Our campaign goal is to grow the Trust by $1million. The campaign has reached over 25% of its goal due to significant leadership donations from the Babcock and Hudson families and many other key donors listed on the Art Angel Wall.
SUPPORT NEW INITIATIVES
These additional perpetual funds will support new initiatives such as programs for artists in residence and master instructors, traveling museum exhibits and energy efficient improvements, as well as growing the video curriculum into an annual film festival.
INVEST IN OUR FUTURE
Please make an investment in our community’s future by contributing to the 50 YEARS CONTINUE THE VISION CAMPAIGN.
Contributions to the Trust, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, are tax deductible. As you know the Center is not supported by government funding.
