Come to learn what will be covered in each class so you can determine which is best suited to your needs. Our 8th Biennial National Art Exhibition is one of the nation's most prestigious juried exhibits of traditional 2-dimensional media with over $6,500 in prize money. This year, we are honored to have as our jurist, Dean Mitchell (A.W.S., N.W.S.), heralded as one of America's greatest watercolorists.

Join us at 7pm on February 9 as we toast the winners of the National Art Exhibit with a champagne and dessert reception. Tickets are $5/person and may be purchased in advance at the VAC front desk or at the door that evening.

Something for Everyone!
The Peace River National Art Festival - THE outdoor art festival of the year in all of Charlotte County - will be held in picturesque Laishley Park, directly on the banks of the Peace River and the corner of the Gulf of Mexico in the cultural district of Punta Gorda, Florida.
The area alongside Laishley Park is one of the most attractive locations for an art festival anywhere in the state. People visit this wonderful event from all over Southwest Florida. The festival features artists from all over the country, onsite food and beverages, and a children's play area.

Join the COMMON THREADS group as they take Anita Meyer to the Ruth Funk Textile Center in Melbourne, FL. Enjoy a private docent tour of the new exhibit, "Traditional Textiles of India," and relax with a brown bag lunch in the botanical gardens across the street. All in all, a GREAT trip!
