CARING FOR YOUR ART AND ARTIFACTS: PRESERVATION FOR THE FUTURE

How to properly care for your art "treasures" will be discussed by Nikki Goodman in this FREE seminar. Nikki is a retired conservator who worked at the Smithsonian Institution for over 20 years in the conservation department of the National Museum of American History and for the U.S. Army, Center of Military History.

4th ANNUAL PEACE RIVER NATIONAL ART FESTIVAL

Charlotte County's premier art festival at Punta Gorda's Laishley Park, with over 100 prominent national artists showcasing original works of art FOR SALE. Food and beverages, music and light entertainment. Something for everyone!

Outdoor Digital Photo Workshop
Saturday, March 13, 9am-4pm

Improve your image capture skills with "hand-on" experience outside then return to the VAC to view, critique and reinforce what you have learned. Taught by experienced digital photographer Chuck Crafton. Limited to 10 participants.
Cost: $60/members & $70/non-members


Kumihimo Beaded Braids Workshop
April 13 & 14, 9am-4pm

Learn the art of Japanese braiding using a classic Marudai (Japanese braiding table) while "thinking outside the bead" to create a beautiful piece of jewelry. Taught by South Florida Jewelry Arts Guild founder Adrienne Gaskell.
Cost: $150/members & $180/non-members
$50 kit fee payable to instructor


Charlotte County Porcelain Artists
March 27, 10am-3pm

The Charlotte County Porcelain Artists will hold their annual show and sale on Saturday, March 27, from 10am-3pm at the Visual Arts Center. There will be free refreshments, painting demonstrations, and many hand painted door prizes (some by well known porcelain artists). A $1 donation is requested for participation in the drawings.
