Heather Garcia, Children's Program
Heather attended Florida Gulf Coast University and studied art, psychology and literature. She has a bachelor's degree in English and is currently pursuing her Master's degree while teaching English full time at Charlotte High School. Heather loves teaching children's summer art classes at the Visual Arts Center because it allows her to utilize her college art class background and it is a contrast to the high school students she is accustomed to teaching.

Tom Hamilton, Video Making
When Tom Hamilton retired over 10 years ago, he began taking classes and workshops at the VAC, starting with watercolor as his primary media and then moving on to pastel painting. Tom has been on the VAC Board for several years, was in charge of the restoration of the VAC after Hurricane Charlie, and was instrumental in putting together a grant for the construction of our Technology Lab. Last year, Tom attended a 60-hour Movie Making Workshop at Ringling in Sarasota, and will put that to use by teaching Video-Making for the first time during our Summer Kids Camp. Tom's love for movie making comes from a lifetime of still photography and video projects for the Acorn Ranch and the Isles Yacht Club. His goal is to expand the video offerings at the VAC by offering courses for both kids and adults, amateur and the semi-pro.
