The National Art Exhibition hosted by the Visual Arts Center is one of the nation's most prestigious juried exhibitions of two-dimensional media. The 9th Biennial National Art Exhibition held in February 2014
was juried by Carl Sampson, repeat winner at the National Portrait Competition. Mr. Samson selected 130 works submitted by artists from 38 states for the show. Over 2,000 visitors toured the 2014 NAE during its run.
Our 10th Biennial National Art Exhibition will be held January 29 - March 12, 2016. Entry is now closed.
Jeffrey T. Larson will jury the 2016 show. Mr. Larson is an Art Renewal Center (A.R.C.) Living Master who has won multiple national awards. His works “Bread Rack” and “In the Light of Life,” respectively, won 1st place in the Still Life/Floral category of The Artist’s Magazine 2013 and 2012 Annual Art Competitions. Mr. Larson is a frequent guest instructor at the Atelier in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The 2016 NAE and the $2,000 Best of Show Award is being sponsored by the Mary Ellen Byrd Memorial. Total prize money will exceed $7,000 and will include the $750 Bowles Award for Portrait Excellence.
All entries must be submitted through Juried Art Services at www.juriedartservices.com. Each artist may enter three works for consideration. Entry fees are $35 for the first entry and $15 each for the second and third entries.

March 14 &15, 2016: Pick up hand-delivered work from10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; return shipping begins
Free Guided Art Tours: Thursday February 25 at 2pm and Saturday, March 5 at 11am
Poetry Night: Monday, March 7 at 7pm. Join us for a poetry reading in honor of NAE.
