The Visual Arts Center Library provides a quiet space for both members and non-members. It’s filled with a wealth of art-related books, DVD’s and magazines which are available to be checked out (by Visual Arts Center members only). Donations (art books, magazines, dvd’s and $$) to the library are gratefully received and all funds received from library sales are invested back into the library for the purchase of new books, subscriptions, etc. Our library table was donated to the Charlotte County Art Guild in December of 1996 by Bettie C. Clarke, in memory of her husband, Fred C. Clarke.

Volunteers work to keep the library a welcoming and useful spot. If you have a few hours each week or month and an interest in helping out, please come by or call for more information on how to become a Visual Art Center library volunteer. Works of art created by library volunteers decorate the library walls and are for sale, so be sure to stop by and check out this hidden gem.

Starting in January 2015, a newly formed group, the Visual Arts Center Book Club will be meeting in the library the 4th Wednesday of every month at 2pm, to discuss current art biographies and historical art novels. You must be a Visual Art Center member to join this group. For more information,   call the Visual Arts Center at 941-639-8810.
